| Collection Information: | No special patient preparation required. Obtain by standard collection procedures. Fill tube completely. Tubes fill slowly; do NOT remove cap to fill. Shake tubes 10 times, just firmly enough to ensure entire inner surface of tube is coated with blood, to solubilize antigens on tube wall.No special patient preparation is required. Obtain by standard collection procedures. |
| Transport Information: | Deliver to lab immediately. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory.Perform testing immediately. Specimen must be tested within 30 minutes. |
| Reference Clients: | If unable to deliver to the lab immediately, store (incubate) upright at 36-38 °C for 16 - 24 hours. Specimen must then be centrifuged for 15 minutes at 2000 - 3000 RCF. Store and transport specimen in original tubes at 2-8 °C up to 4 weeks. If longer storage is required, store and transport at -20 °C up to 4 months. |
